Under Canadian law, only authorized and licensed representatives are legally permitted to provide immigration advice or representation for a fee.

The College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC) is the national regulatory body designated by the Government of Canada to oversee the practice of Canadian immigration and citizenship consultants. CICC’s responsibilities include licensing qualified consultants, establishing entry-to-practice and continuing professional development standards, issuing and enforcing the Code of Professional Conduct, and protecting the public through oversight, discipline, and complaint resolution mechanisms.
