WARNING: IMMIGRATION FRAUD

The Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam has recently demonstrated very effective public outreach, regularly publishing informative posts and actively engaging with the public on social media.

Below is a fraud warning posted on the official Facebook page of the Consulate General of Canada in Ho Chi Minh City on January 29, 2026, regarding scams involving so-called “low-skilled worker” job offers:

“An offer that sounds too good to be true? It may be a scam.

Fraud Alert: Purchasing job offers for “low-skilled workers” in Canada

Be cautious of intermediaries or agents who promise employment in Canada for “low-skilled” positions and claim that you can later sponsor your entire family after paying large fees (often ranging from VND 1–2 billion). These offers are false and fraudulent.

  • Only authorized employers and legitimate job offers issued through official Canadian immigration programs can lead to a valid Canadian work permit.
  • Canada does not sell jobs, visas, or family sponsorship programs.
  • Always verify information through the official website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) HERE

Stay vigilant and ensure you conduct thorough research before proceeding.”
